As a student in the Soviet Union during the 1960s Eldon Ray Cox unexpectedly played an integral role in connecting Soviet military officer Oleg Penvosky with the American Embassy.  Penvosky's connection with the CIA proved vital to gathering secret information pertaining to the Soviet Union's intention, strength, and technological advancements during the Cold War.

A new strategic plan was recently announced for Cape Girardeau’s downtown district. The plan envisions a riverfront amphitheatre, an aquarium, and a downtown hotel, among other developments.

Marla Mills, the executive director of Old Town Cape, spoke to Southeast Missouri State University historian Joel Rhodes.

Steven Poster is an acclaimed photographer and cinematographer. His still photographs often focus on urban landscapes and small town America.

The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus in Cape Girardeau is presenting his new exhibit “Around the Edges: Photographs of Steven Poster.”

In film, Poster has been Director of Photography for many features, including cult favorite Donnie Darko, as well as Southland Tales, Daddy Day Care, and Big Top Pee-Wee.
