Mai Neng Moua spoke at Southeast Missouri State University on Wednesday, April 25 as part of the Multicultural Speaker Series. Ms. Neng Moua’s and her family, like many ethnic Hmong people, fled Laos in the 1970s to escape persecution at the hands of the Laotian communist regime. After some time in a refugee camp in Thailand, she and her family came to settle in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is now a writer and editor of Paj Ntaub Voice, a Hmong-American literary arts magazine.
