Would Higher Fuel Efficiency Standards Actually Create Jobs?

New standards set by the Senate could increase fuel efficiency for the U.S. automotive fleet to 35 miles per gallon by the year 2020. David Friedman of the Union of Concerned Scientists says that standard could save 1.2 million barrels of oil per day, create jobs in Missouri and Illinois, and save consumers money.

He spoke with SEPR's Jacob McCleland.
