The Alliance of Automoblie Manufacturers is supporting an alternate version of the Senate CAFE standards that were passed earlier this year. The alternate version would increase fuel economy standards to 35 mpg by 2022. It would also allow manufacturers to treat SUVs and large vehicles differently than cars and small trucks.
