Bread for the World is a multi-denominational faith-based organization that fights to end poverty and hunger. They released a new report entitled Hunger 2008: Working Harder for Working Families. The Hunger 2008 reports that many families are living and working at or above the poverty line, yet are only one accident or illness away from living in dire circumstances. A major cause for this precarious state is the high cost of health care and child care services.
Reverend Jim McDonald is vice president for policy and programs. He spoke with SEPR's Jacob McCleland.
