Those words, by French revolutionary writer Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle, were the inspiration for Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, according to conductor John Eliot Gardiner. Gerdiner leads the Revolutionary and Romantic Orchestra in a stunning performance of Beethoven's Fifth.
