Tom Cushman, a Southeast Missouri State University alumnus and 40-year plus sportswriter for the Philadelphia Daily News and the San Diego Union Tribune, has authored a new book, Muhammad Ali and the Greatest Heavyweight Generation published by Southeast’s University Press. 

His book contains the background and backyard stories of the fighters, from their rags to their riches. Cushman will host a talk & book signing at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 1 in Glenn Auditorium of Dempster Hall on the Southeast Campus. The event is free and open to the public.
