KRCU’s Jacob McCleland will host a presentation as part of Kent Library’s Athenaeum Series. McCleland served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the small nation of Panama from 2002 to 2005.  He worked and lived in a small village of about 350 people. As an agriculture volunteer, McCleland worked with subsistence farmers to teach a few slightly modified approaches to their traditional methods of farming in order to improve yields and nutrition.

In his presentation at noon on Wednesday, December 2, McCleland will discuss his work as a Peace Corp volunteer and how the region’s environmental problems affect the village.
