2012-2013 Freshmen/Transfer Awards  

Governor's Scholarship Value

Covers incidental fees and general fees for 30 credit hours per academic year, room & board (towers east and south and 15 meal plan), textbook rental. Award is reduced to actual charges for coursework taken at a Regional Campus.  

Regents' Scholarship Value

Covers incidental fees for 30 credit hours per academic year. Award is reduced to actual charges for coursework taken at a Regional Campus.    

President's Plus Scholarship Value

$2,500 applied toward incidental fees ($1,250 per semester). Award is reduced to $1,600 for coursework taken at a Regional Campus.  

President's Scholarship Value

$2,000 applied toward incidental fees ($1,000 per semester). Award is reduced to $1,600 for coursework taken at a Regional Campus.  

University Scholarship Value

$2,500 applied toward incidental fees ($1,250 per semester) or $1,500 when combined with the Regional Achievement Award. Award is reduced to $1,600 for coursework taken at a Regional Campus. If combined with Regional Achievement Award or Southeast Family Achievement at a Regional Campus, the award is reduced to $975.  

Renewal for Governor’s Regents’, President’s Plus, President’s and University Scholarship

Renewable for an additional three years for a maximum of four consecutive academic years. To renew, you must maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast and complete a minimum of 30 credit hours per academic year at Southeast. Southeast summer hours taken in the same academic year may be used to meet renewal criteria.  

Regional Achievement Award (RAA) Value

Recipients will pay the in-state incidental fee rate plus 25 percent of that rate.  

Southeast Family Achievement Award Value

Recipients will pay the in-state incidental fee rate plus 25 percent of that rate.  

Renewal for RAA and Southeast Family Achievement Award

Renewable each year up to a maximum of four consecutive academic years, 128 credit hours (including transfer) or completion of the coursework for a Bachelor's degree, whichever occurs first, provided you:  

  1. meet the housing requirement of living in University approved housing during the Fall and Spring semesters of your first two years (one year if a community college transfer student) enrolled at Southeast; and   
  2. are enrolled in at least 12 Southeast hours for the Fall and Spring semesters (complete a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year, can include summer).   
  3. maintain a minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast. Southeast summer hours taken in the same academic year may be used to meet renewal criteria. 

GED Scholarship Value

Covers incidental fees for 30 credit hours per academic year. (This scholarship is not available for students applying for Fall 2013 and beyond)

Renewal for GED Scholarship

Renewable for an additional three years for a maximum of four consecutive academic years. To renew, you must maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast and complete a minimum of 30 credit hours per academic year at Southeast. Southeast summer hours taken in the same academic year may be used to meet renewal criteria.     

Outstanding Community College Student Scholarship Value

$3,000; may not be combined with other scholarships listed.  

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship Value

$500 may be combined with the Community College Scholarship.  

Community College Scholarship Value

Varies from $1500 to $2500; may be combined with the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship.  

Renewal for Outstanding Community College Student Scholarship, Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship and Community College Scholarship

Renewable for a second year with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast and complete a minimum of 30 credit hours per academic year at Southeast. Southeast summer hours taken in the same academic year may be used to meet renewal criteria.  

Missouri Leadership Award Value

$500 to be applied to residence hall fees or $1000 when combined with President’s or President’s PLUS.  

Foundation Leadership Award (out of state award) Value 

$1000 to be applied to residence hall fees.  

Renaissance Scholarship (Missouri Residents Only) Value

$1000 to be applied to residence hall fees  

Renewal for Leadership, Foundation Leadership Award and Renaissance Scholarship

Renewable for an additional three years for a maximum of four consecutive academic years while living in on-campus housing. To renew, you must maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast and complete a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year at Southeast. Southeast summer hours taken in the same academic year may be used to meet renewal criteria.

Missouri Boys/Girls State Citizen Awards Value

$300 one-time award to be applied to general fees. Non-renewable.

Terms and Conditions  

  1. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 hours per semester) to receive payment for the scholarship award.
  2. The full value of the Regents’, President’s, President’s PLUS, Student of Achievement, University and Regional Achievement Award is applied toward incidental fees.
  3. Merit scholarships (excluding the Regional Achievement Award) are renewable for 3 additional academic years for a maximum of 4 consecutive academic years with a Southeast cumulative 3.5 GPA and a minimum of 30 Southeast credit hours per academic year (may include Southeast summer hours). Credit earned through Dual Credit and Transfer credit/GPA is not included when calculating renewal eligibility.
  4. Merit scholarship values are reduced when a student enrolls at a Southeast regional campus.
  5. Transfer scholarship eligibility is based on course work completed after high school graduation.  Students cannot have attended a four-year institution at any time after high school graduation.  Student must have attended the community college as a full-time student (excluding summer semesters).
  6. Scholarship award amounts are subject to reductions based on financial aid packaging and other merit-based scholarships.  A student will not receive funding in excess of their total cost of attendance. 
  7. Cost associated with retroactive credit, credit by exam or audit courses are not covered by the scholarship and credit earned does not count towards renewal criteria.
