Community College Scholarships are available to students transferring to Southeast from an accredited community college. Students transferring to the University may also be considered for Endowed & Sponsored Scholarships. The information listed below reflects the 2012-2013 scholarship program.
Outstanding Community College Student Scholarship
Value
$3,000; may not be combined with other scholarships listed.
Eligibility
Missouri Community College Presidents in the Southeast Missouri State University service region may nominate two students. Contact your community college's financial aid office to determine your school's eligibility. This award may not be combined with the Community College or Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships. Nominees must meet the Community College Scholarship Criteria listed below.
Renewal
Renewable for a second year with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast and complete a minimum of 30 credit hours per academic year at Southeast. Southeast summer hours taken in the same academic year may be used to meet renewal criteria.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Value
$500 (maximum of 25 awarded); may be combined with the Community College Scholarship.
Eligibility:
Be a member of Phi Theta Kappa and have a cumulative 3.50 GPA and 24 or more transferable hours (may be combined with the Community College Scholarship).

Community College Scholarship
Value
Varies from $1500 to $2500; may be combined with the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship.
Eligibility for Missouri Residents
- $1500 – 24 or more transferable credit hours and a 3.5 GPA; or
- $1500 – Associate degree and a 3.25 GPA; or
- $2000 – 24 or more transferable credit hours and a 3.75 GPA; or
Eligibility for Out-of-State Residents
- $2500 – 24 or more transferable credit hours and a 3.5 GPA; or
- $2500 – Associate degree and a 3.25 GPA; or
- $2500 – 24 or more transferable credit hours and a 3.75 GPA; or
The value of the Community College Scholarships for out-of-state residents is reduced to $1500 when combined with a Regional Achievement Award (RAA) or the Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP).

Value
Recipients will pay the in-state incidental fee rate plus 25 percent of that rate. The 2011-2012 value is $3,631 for 30 credit hours.
Community College Transfer Student Eligibility
- Earn an associate degree and a 2.75 GPA OR 24 transferable credit hours with a 3.0 GPA; and
- Reside in an RAA eligible county in Arkansas, Illinois, Tennessee, and Kentucky ; and
- Live in on-campus housing for one year.
Renewal
Renewable each year up to a maximum of three consecutive academic years, 128 credit hours (including transfer) or completion of the coursework for a Bachelor's degree, whichever occurs first, provided you:
- meet the housing requirement of living in University approved housing during the Fall and Spring semesters of your first year enrolled at Southeast; and
- are enrolled in at least 12 Southeast hours for the Fall and Spring semesters (complete a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year).
- maintain a minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast. Southeast summer hours taken in the same academic year may be used to meet renewal criteria.
