Financing Your Education College is an important investment in your future. Although you and your family have the primary responsibility for financing your college education, you should not overlook the possibility of financial assistance. Students may access the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ or pick up a paper application at the SES office. Entering electronically will provide faster results.
For additional information regarding financial aid, scholarships, etc., visit the financial aid pages at Southeast web site. All financial aid is handled through the financial aid offices on the main campus.
Scholarships available only to students enrolled in classes at Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston (SES). Applications are in the SES office or can be downloaded online (Adobe PDF file). Deadline is Tuesday, May 1, 2008 unless otherwise noted. * If FAFSA report is required for proof of financial need, student MUST submit copy of student aid report.
Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston General Endowed Scholarship Open to students enrolled in a minimum of nine hours of course work per semester at the SES campus with a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
Willam M. Bess Scholarship This scholarship endowed by Montgomery Bank is open to students enrolled in courses at Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston campus. Students must live within Sikeston campus designated service area of Scott, New Madrid, Mississippi, and Stoddard Counties.
Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston Founders' One Scholarship This scholarship is open to students from the counties of the Sikeston campus service area enrolled in a minimum of nine hours at Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston campus. Recipients must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
Sikeston JAYCEE Bootheel Endowed Scholarship The JAYCEE scholarship is open to students enrolled in nine hours or more at SES. Recipients must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
Robert L. Mitchell, Sr., Endowed Scholarship This scholarship will be awarded to a graduate of Sikeston High School with a 2.5 grade point average or to a currently enrolled college student with a 2.0 grade point average, taking 6 to12 credit hours. Financial need must be verified by the FAFSA (copy of student aid report must be provided). Recipient must be of good character and active in church and community or have a family relying on his/her support. Robert L. Mitchell, Sr., believed education and consistent effort were the keys that would open the door of opportunity for anyone. He also believed that the Sikeston campus provided educational opportunities to students of all ages who might not be able to attend college in a traditional setting. Mitchell hoped the recipients of this scholarship, through their efforts, would imporve the quality of their lives and their families.
Don and Barbara Webb SES Scholarship This scholarship is open to students enrolled in at least nine hours of course work at the Sikeston campus.
Harryette J. Campbell Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a student living in southeast Missouri and enrolled in classes at the Sikeston campus. The Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston Scholarship Committee will select the recipient(s). This is a renewable scholarship.
Lewis Furniture Co./Kingsway Furniture Endowed Scholarship The recipient of this scholarship must be enrolled in a minimum of nine hours at the Sikeston campus and must maintain a 2.0 grade point average. The recipient must reapply each year. This scholarship was established in appreciation of community support demonstrated in building Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston campus. It is also an investment in the future of the Sikeston area communities.
Bob Ralph Endowed Scholarship The recipient must be enrolled in nine or more hours at the Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston campus and maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Financial need must be verified by the FAFSA. The Bob Ralph Endowed Scholarship is in memory of Gary McClain.
Roger Sherman Endowed Scholarship The recipient of this scholarship must be enrolled at the Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston campus who has financial need, as indicated by the FAFSA (copy of student aid report must be provided). If awarded for continuing semesters, appropriate progress must be shown in classes taken. The Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston Scholarship Committee will select the recipient.
Students who meet the Missouri A+ Schools Program guidelines, live in one of the qualifying counties, and enroll as full-time, degree-seeking students at a Southeast Regional Campus in Kennett, Malden, or Sikeston will be eligible for participation in the Southeast A+ Scholarship Program. The qualifiying counties include: Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, Butler, Dunklin, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Scott, Stoddard, and Wayne county. Checklist:

Private Scholarships Harry Sharp Scholarship Open to Sikeston High School graduating seniors. For more information, contact the senior counselor at Sikeston High School, (573) 472-8850.
Sikeston Lions Club - Ira Meredith Memorial Scholarship The recipient of this scholarship shall be a resident of Sikeston, Mo., and enrolled in a minimum of nine hours of course work at Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston (SES) Campus. The recipient shall be a person of good moral character and shall have maintained at least a 2.0 grade point average if a recent graduate of high school. Or, if the recipient(s) is a student at SES, he/she must have a grade point average of 2.5. The recipient must provide proof of enrollment (be pre-enrolled and provide a copy of schedule) in classes at SES for the year in which the scholarship is to be awarded. The recipient shall provide the selection committee with an essay not exceeding 300 words as to why he/she desires to receive a scholarship award from the Lions Club.
Sikeston Rotary Club Scholarship - Deadline April 2009 Open to Sikeston residents attending SES for the first two years with the intent to transfer to Southeast Missouri State University. The recipient must have a 2.5 grade point average or better and must carry 12 or more credit hours per semester. Application may be picked up in the main office of SES.
