Scholarships available only to students enrolled in classes at Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston (SES). Applications are available in the SES office or can downloaded and printed.

Admissions, Southeast Missouri State University

Students attending classes at Southeast Missouri State University – Sikeston (SES) must be admitted to Southeast Missouri State University. Admission applications are available at the SES campus or online. There is a $30 non-refundable admission fee at the time of application. Admission information can be found on the University Admissions Web page http://www.semo.edu/admissions/index.htm. Students not meeting Southeast admissions requirements may be admitted as a “Restricted Student” by Southeast at SES. Students may then enroll in courses offered by Southeast at SES until they meet admissions requirements to be admitted as a regular degree-seeking student. Contact the SES academic coordinator for additional information. To be admitted to SES:

  1. Complete an application form available at SES 
  2. Return application form to SES with $30 check or money order to Southeast
  3. Request high school transcript be sent by high school to Southeast or send GED scores. 
  4. Request original college transcript(s) sent by any college attended to Southeast Admissions Office. 
  5. Pick up schedule of courses at SES or click on link to course offerings at SES
  6. For financial aid, complete FAFSA form online. The form is available at SE or online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. Must be completed to be approved for Pell Grant of student loan(s).

General Application 

 

  • If FAFSA report is required for proof of financial need, student MUST complete a FAFSA and verification, if selected.

  • Renewable scholarship: Student shall make application to renew scholarship the following year if guidelines continue to be met.

  • Students not enrolled in required number of hours on Sikeston campus should not apply.

Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston General Endowed Scholarship

Open to students enrolled in a minimum of nine hours of course work per semester at the SES campus with a minimum 2.0 grade point average. This is a renewable scholarship; applicants must reapply each year.

Willam M. Bess Scholarship

This scholarship endowed by Montgomery Bank is open to students enrolled in courses at Southeast Missouri State University – Sikeston campus. Students must live within Sikeston campus designated service area of Scott, New Madrid, Mississippi, and Stoddard Counties.  This is a renewable scholarship; applicants must reapply each year.

Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston Founders' One Scholarship

This scholarship is open to students from the counties of the Sikeston campus service area enrolled in a minimum of nine hours at Southeast Missouri State University – Sikeston campus. Recipients must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.

Sikeston JAYCEE Bootheel Endowed Scholarship

The JAYCEE scholarship is open to students enrolled in nine hours or more at SES. Recipients must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.  This is a renewable scholarship; applicants must reapply each year.

Robert L. Mitchell, Sr., Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a graduate of Sikeston High School with a 2.5 grade point average or to a currently enrolled college student with a 2.0 grade point average, taking 6 to 12 credit hours. Financial need must be verified by Student Financial Services through the FAFSA. Recipient must be of good character and active in church and community or have a family relying on his/ her support. This is a renewable scholarship; applicants must reapply each year. Robert L. Mitchell, Sr., believed education and consistent effort were the keys that would open the door of opportunity for anyone. He also believed that the Sikeston campus provided educational opportunities to students of all ages who might not be able to attend college in a traditional setting. Mitchell hoped the recipients of this scholarship, through their efforts, would improve the quality of their lives and their families.

Don and Barbara Webb SES Scholarship

This scholarship is open to students enrolled in at least nine hours of course work at the Sikeston campus. This is a renewable scholarship; applicants must reapply each year.

H.B. Campbell Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a female living in southeast Missouri Bootheel and attending Southeast Missouri State University – Sikeston Campus majoring in Agriculture. This is a renewable scholarship; applicants must reapply each year.

Harryette J. Campbell Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a student living in southeast Missouri and enrolled in classes at the Sikeston Campus. The Southeast Missouri State University – Sikeston Scholarship Committee will select the recipient(s). This is a renewable scholarship; applicants must reapply each year.

Lewis Furniture Co./Kingsway Furniture Endowed Scholarship

This recipient of this scholarship must be enrolled in a minimum of nine hours at the Sikeston campus and must maintain a 2.0 grade point average. This is a renewable scholarship; applicants must reapply each year. This scholarship was established in appreciation of community support demonstrated in building Southeast Missouri State University – Sikeston campus. It is also an investment in the future of the Sikeston area communities.

Bob Ralph Endowed Scholarship

This recipient must be a non-traditional student enrolled in nine hours or more at the Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston campus and maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Financial need must be verified through Student Financial Services by the FAFSA. This is a renewable scholarship; applicants must reapply each year. The Bob Ralph Endowed Scholarship is in memory of Gary McClain.

Roger Sherman Endowed Scholarship

The recipient of this scholarship must be enrolled at the Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston campus and have financial need, indicated by Student Financial Services through the FAFSA. If awarded for continuing semesters, appropriate progress must be shown in classes taken. The Southeast Missouri State University – Sikeston Scholarship Committee will select the recipient. This is a renewable scholarship; applicants must reapply each year.

Lillian Braden Endowed Scholarship

This recipient shall be enrolled at the Sikeston campus. Financial need must be verified by using a FAFSA filed by the student and verified through Student Financial Services. Sikeston Scholarship Committee will select the recipient. This is a renewable scholarship; applicant must reapply each year.

Focus Bank of Sikeston

This is awarded to a student from East Prairie High School with financial need. Financial need must be verified by Student Financial Services through FAFSA. Student must have a 2.5 GPA. This is a renewable scholarship; applicants must reapply each year.

David M. Barton Endowed Scholarship

Three two-thousand dollar scholarships will be awarded to three freshman students enrolled full-time (12 or more hours) in classes at the Sikeston campus. Eligible students must be working towards a bachelor of science in agribusiness program (plant and soil science option) offered at Sikeston. A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required. Descendants of David & June Barton will have preference. Completed application and essay must be submitted each year to: Southeast Missouri State University - Sikeston, 2401 N. Main St., Sikeston, MO 63801-8530. Scholarship is renewable but student must reapply each year. Application is available from Sikeston office.

Southeast A+ Scholarship

Students who meet the Missouri A+ Schools Program guidelines, reside in one of the qualifying counties, and enroll as full-time, degree-seeking student at a Southeast Regional Campus in Kennett, Malden, or Sikeston will be eligible for participation in the Southeast A+ Scholarship Program. The scholarship requirements and renewal criteria closely relate to those in place for the Missouri A+ Program. The qualifying counties include: Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, Butler, Dunklin, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard, and Wayne counties.   Checklist: ·         Submit the Southeast application for admission, a $30 application fee, high school transcript and ACT/SAT score(s).

  • Select Kennett, Malden or Sikeston as the “campus you primarily plan to attend” on the application for admission. 
  • Send a final, official high school transcript with the A+ seal to: Southeast Missouri State University, Office of Admissions, One University Plaza, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701 
  • Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). ·         Submit any additional financial aid documents requested by Student Financial Services. 
  • Enroll full-time at a Southeast Regional Campus

Citizens Bank of Charleston Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in agriculture at Sikeston campus with a minimum 2.0 GPA. This scholarship is $1,000 per academic year and applicant must reapply each year.

Private Scholarships

Sikeston Lions Club - Ira Meredith Memorial Scholarship

The recipient of this scholarship shall be a resident of Sikeston, MO., and enrolled in a minimum of nine hours of course work at Southeast Missouri State University – Sikeston (SES) Campus. The recipient shall be a person of good moral character and shall have maintained at least a 2.0 grade point average if a recent graduate of high school. Or, if the recipient (s) is a student at SES, he/she must have a grade point average of 2.5. The recipient must provide proof of enrollment (be pre-enrolled and provide a copy of schedule) in classes at SES for the year in which the scholarship is to be awarded. An application may be picked up at the Sikeston office. The recipient shall provide the selection committee with an essay not exceeding 300 words as to why he/she desires to receive a scholarship award from the Lions Club.

Lions Scholarship Application

S and J Potashnick Transportation, Inc. and Hart Transportation Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a student attending Sikeston campus who has financial need as verified by Student Financial Services through the FAFSA. Scholarship is automatically renewable each year, as long as student continues to meet the scholarship criteria.
