The purpose of the B.S. in Secondary Education: Social Studies program is to prepare teachers to teach social studies in the secondary schools. In addition to developing a knowledge base in history and the social science disciplines, students learn the methodological approaches by which the social studies may be taught, applying and refining those approaches in the clinical field experiences required of the program.
