Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society
The purpose of Phi Alpha Honor Society is to provide a closer bond among students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work.

The guidelines for membership in the Chi Lambda Chapter of the Phi Alpha Honor Society at Southeast Missouri State University are as follows:
- Completion of 15 hours in social work education (this requires the completion of SW307 in the Southeast curriculum)
- An overall GPA of at least 3.0
- A GPA in social work courses of at least 3.5
