The Department of Social Work and the Center for Health and Counseling will sponsor a series of workhsops on mental health issues.

In Fall 2007, our workshop was on schizophrenia where we showed the film Out of the Shadow: A Discussion on Schizophrenia on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University, and at the Community Counseling Center with a panel discussion afterwards.

Our Spring 2008 workshop was on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  The open discussion on April 24 was well received with a large turn out, despite the weather.  If you would like more information about the video that was shown, go to http://www.giftfromwithin.com. 

The workshop scheduled for April 25 was cancelled due to low registration. It has now been rescheduled for September 26, 2008. Look for the brochure in the mail or contact the office for more details.  Dr. DeLambo is a psychologist who specializes in the treatment of traumas, such as sexual assault, sexual abuse, war trauma and severe accidents.
