THE REGIONAL FAMILY CRISIS CENTER is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  We seek to break the cycle of abuse by empowering abused women  to overcome obstacles to living in an abusive relationship, and to assist them in making positive changes in their lives and the lives of their children.  We seek to do this through the provision of a crisis hotline, emergency shelter services, peer support groups, therapeutic sieves, advocacy and coordination of resources for victims and their families.  In addition, we seek to increase awareness of the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault through public domestic violence and sexual assault preventative education.

WHAT STUDENTS SAY:  “My overall experience at the Regional Family Crisis Center (RFCC) has helped me learn how to integrate all the skills, theories and ethics I learned from class into a real-life work setting.  My supervisor and the staff at the RFCC were very helpful to me.  Their “open door” policy helped me feel comfortable approaching my supervisor and other staff members with questions I had (I had about a million a day).  Even so, my supervisor and the staff were quick to help me out if there was something I did not understand.  Throughout this experience, I feel I have developed a better understanding of victims of domestic violence.  With that understanding, I have learned effective ways to express empathy towards victims of domestic violence.”
