What are the advantages of going to the Perryville Area Higher Education Center?
Tyler Buchheit says, “Obviously, you don’t have to drive as far. I live about seven miles south of Perryville, so the drive is a lot better. The small class size is really nice. That’s really one of the biggest advantages. You get a lot of attention. It’s really nice to have such small classes. I’d say there might be 10 to 15 people in the class – tops.”
Buchheit, of Perryville Mo., is double majoring in German and agribusiness.
He took one of Southeast’s ITV courses last semester in nutrition taught by Dr. Childers.
“The ITV class really was okay,” Buchheit said. “I talked to a guy that had taken an ITV course and that’s how I got into it. I’m glad I did.”
Childers taught in Cape Girardeau, but Sikeston and Perryville students were also in her class. She was always willing to work with everyone, he said.
Buchheit said he hopes to study abroad for a semester or two in Germany for his major before continuing with his career.
