Southeast graduate and Design & Construction Services, Inc. President Ron Unterriener takes great pride in solving his clients’ problemsᾰmaking them feel comfortable and secure during the construction process. He must eliminate hassles for his current customers while generating new clients for his firm. Customer service is vital to his company and is the cornerstone of Unterreiner’s business philosophy.
“You can treat people with respectᾰall peopleᾰand still succeed in business,” he says. “Money is not everything. Do your job, do it well, and the money will come.”
Growing up in Cape Girardeau and attending Notre Dame High School, Unterreiner’s decision to attend Southeast was natural. The school provided him with a good educational environment and the comforts of home.
“I learned a lot at Southeast…about business and about life,” he said. “In my judgment, the business school was excellent and prepared me well for the business world.”
Outside of work, Unterreiner writes poetry and stories, volunteers at his church and dedicates time to his familyᾰhis favorite hobby – where he promotes strong values, love and tradition in his home. The pinnacle of his summer is a gathering of more than 40 members of his family at Gulf Shores, Ala., for an annual family vacation and reunion.
Unterreiner urges students to attend class, ask lots of questions and continue to learn.
“Take your lessons and contribute to society in every way you can,” he says.
Take the values from a good family and a Midwestern city like Cape and spread them around the world as best you can,” he says,
