Dr. Gabriele Eckart
Eckart loves to travel and has visited many countries in Europe and the Americas. Her favorite destinations are Argentina and Chile because they have large German-speaking populations and rich cultural history. When she is not traveling abroad, Dr. Eckart enjoys gardening, and her classroom usually contains nearly as many plants as students. Dr. Eckart came to the United States to study and teach languages and literature over a decade ago. She received her doctoral degree in German from the University of Minnesota. Eckart has taught Spanish and German in the Department of Foreign Languages and Anthropology at Southeast since 1999. Dr. Eckart has an admirable academic record, having published over a dozen articles in scholarly journals in the past four years alone. She has also presented several papers on the subject of literary theory, which were published in both Spanish and German. Eckart recently received the “Outstanding Scholarship and Creative Activity Award” from the College of Liberal Arts in recognition of her excellence as a scholar and writer. |
