Southeast Missouri State University

Student Health Insurance

Students at Southeast, with the exception of international students, are not required to have active health insurance as a condition of enrollment; however, it is strongly encouraged. Students who are not covered under their parent/guardians' health insurance plan or have no coverage of their own are encouraged to consider securing health insurance.

Southeast participated with the Missouri Consortium to offer an Injury and Sickness Insurance Plan underwritten by UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company. All registered domestic students taking credit hours are eligible to participate in the plan on a voluntary basis. Eligible Dependents (including Domestic Partners) of enrolled students may participate in the plan on a voluntary basis.

This plan is underwritten by UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company and is based on policy 1729. Policy terms and conditions subject to regulatory approval.

Please read the Certificate of Coverage to determine whether this plan is right for you before you enroll. The certificate of coverage provides details of the coverage including costs, benefits, exclusions, any reductions or limitations and the terms under which the coverage may be continued in force. Copies of the certificate are available from the Office of Residence Life, or may be viewed and downloaded at www.UHCSR.com.

For enrollment information or more details on the program please contact Customer Service at 800-767-0700 or customerservice@uhcsr.com.

The University will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by those who participate in the plan.  Southeast Missouri State University students, except for international students, are NOT required to purchase their health insurance through UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company or any other provider.  This is information is being provided to provide a possible option for those needing health insurance.
