Real World Experience Southeast is committed to combining traditional classroom learning with actual real-world experience in order to make our students more marketable upon graduation. The internships, undergraduate research and laboratory classes within the Department of Agriculture are excellent examples of the combination of classroom theory and practical experience. Undergraduate research experiences allow students to “learn-by-doing,” the methods that agricultural scientists use to discover new knowledge and technology. Recent undergraduate researchers have presented their findings at the Missouri Academy of Sciences and other professional venues. Experiential learning also takes place in laboratory classes through work experience on campus, at the University Demonstration Farm, in the Horticultural Greenhouse facility and at the Rice Research Station. |
