Major:
Agribusiness (B.S.) 
(No minor required)
Students must elect to concentrate in one of the following options; all options can provide the basis for graduate work leading to master or doctoral degrees:

  • Agriculture Industry option – This option prepares students for positions in management, sales, marketing, finance, policy and related areas in the agricultural and food system. This option is specifically designed to accommodate students who have earned accredited associate of applied science (A.A.S.) degrees in an agriculture-related field and desire to complete a bachelor of science (B.S.) degree in agriculture. The option allows you to choose courses (in consultation with an advisor) that will build upon the skills gained trhoug the A.A.S. degree. This option is also a good choice for students who desire a customized program.
  • Animal Science option – This option prepares students for positions in management, sales, marketing, finance, policy, production and related areas in the animal industry. 
  • Horticulture option – This option prepares students for positions in horticulture management, sales, marketing, finance, policy, production, consulting, and related areas in the greenhouse, nursery, landscape, turf grass, fruit, vegetable and similar industries. 
  • Plant and Soil Science – This option prepares students for scientific and technical careers related to field crops, soils, horticulture, farming, and similar areas.  It offers the coursework necessary for graduates to become certified agronomists, soil scientists, or horticulturists.  This option can also provide for the basis for graduate work leading to a MS or PhD. 

Minors:
Agriculture – 15 hours
Companion Animals - 20 hours
Horticulture – 16 hours
Soils – 16 hours
