  • Southeast is one of only a few universities nation-wide to require a six-week Athletic Training-related internship affording a valuable experiential experience.

  • Southeast is one of only a few universities nation-wide to offer an opportunity for Athletic Training students to conduct scholarly research and leadership opportuniies through the elite Athletic Training Education Leadership Council.

  • The experience you will gain through the various clinical and internship opportunities offered in the athletic training program will allow you to expand your knowledge of the field, enhance your networking opportunities and provide you with the real-world experience needed in today’s competitive world.

  • Southeast’s athletic training program has been CAATE (Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education) accredited since 1998.

  • Ninety-five percent of Southeast’s athletic training graduates become certified athletic trainers through the Board of Certification (BOC). Forty-two percent of our graduates pass the certification exam on their first try, compared to only 32 percent nationally.

  • Students in Southeast’s athletic training program enjoy small classes and a low student-faculty ratio of 12:1.

  • Southeast’s athletic training program has two full-time faculty members dedicated to our program. Many other institutions only offer one faculty position dedicated to the program, sometimes even requiring the faculty member to split responsibilities with other areas. Our faculty’s 100 percent dedication to the program guarantees you easy access to faculty when extra assistance is needed and also ensures attention is given to all athletic training accreditation guidelines.
