Southeast Missouri State University

Facilities

The Department of Human Environmental Studies is housed in Scully Hall.  Scully Hall was built from 1968 to 1971.  The four-story, 95,000-square-foot building houses classrooms, laboratories, computer labs, study lounges, and a food court area.

The Instructional Resources and Technology Lab (IRTL) is located on the second floor and specializes in meeting the computer technology needs of education and child development majors.  The lab contains reference materials, computer workstations, video equipment and equipment for creating instructional materials.

Child development students have access to Southeast’s nationally accredited Center for Child Studies, the University Child Enrichment Center, and the Sikeston University Child Development Center (which is in the pre-accreditation phase).  These centers provide educational services to families and children between the ages of six weeks to six years.  In addition, they provide students from multiple disciplines with observational and research opportunities for their academic programs.
