Facilities Most computer science courses are held in Robert A. Dempster Hall, located on the north side of campus. Dempster Hall opened in 1996, and is home to the Computer Science Department and the Donald L. Harrison College of Business. The three-story building totals over 100,000 square feet and includes ten classrooms, 7 microcomputer labs, over 450 fully networked computers, the 400 seat Glenn Auditorium, 3 general seminar rooms, 3 student lounges and 2 fully-mediated interactive television rooms. Dempster Hall also features interactive television and satellite systems plus technology packages in every classroom. The Computer Science Department also has two computer labs dedicated exclusively for students enrolled in computer science courses. Our teaching lab features 40 Dell computers that are connected to the departmental network. This lab is primarily used in conjunction with our computer science courses, and is located in Dempster Hall room 026. Our second computer lab, located in Dempster Hall room 023, offers 30 Dell computers as well as additional computers for special courses. The lab is open to all students registered in computer science or information systems courses, and is normally available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. (The lab is occasionally closed for classroom use.) |
