Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) – Nationally and internationally renowned and award-winning student organization sponsored by the department that offers numerous educational and networking opportunities for students.  Opportunities to visit manufacturing professionals and their facilities are provided.  Membership in SME provides formal and informal leadership opportunities through fund raising, recruiting new members and visiting high schools for outreach programs.  SME members also are eligible for competitive scholarships.  SME is an international professional society dedicated to serving its members and the manufacturing community through the advancement of professionalism, knowledge and learning.

Society of Photographic Artists – Provides students with the opportunity to do photographic work, such as, developing and printing and to explore and expand students’ experiences.  Club events include trips to professional studios and picturesque locations, special photography opportunities, such as, sepia toning prints.  Membership allows access to Southeast’s darkroom and developing equipment for students not enrolled in a photography class.
