Admissions Policies

Requirements for Admission to the Teacher Education Program:

  • 2.5 GPA
  • ACT Score of 22 or 265 on all C-BASE sections and any ACT score
    • The ACT score requirement can be waived with a four-year degree
    • A score of 20 is acceptable if test was taken before Oct. 1, 1989
  • Score of 235 on all sections of the C-BASE (College Basic Skills Academic Skills Exam - tests science, social studies, English, math and writing. Sections not passed must be passed within two years of the semester in which the student first passed any section.) The C-BASE requirement is waived for students who have previously earned a four-year degree.
  • Complete EN100 (English Composition) with a grade of “C” or better
  • Complete EN 140 (Rhetoric & Critical Thinking) with a grade of “C” or better
  • Complete PY120/CF120 (Child Psychology) with a grade of “C” or better
  • Complete Block I (EL120 – Intro to Teaching) with a written recommendation
  • No felony convictions are permitted
  • Student may not be on disciplinary probation at the University
