Why Should I Study Exercise Science at Southeast?

  • Southeast’s exercise science program offers you the chance to work with state-of-the-art equipment in our 1,400-square-foot Exercise Physiology Laboratory.
  • Our exercise science faculty are committed to involving undergraduate and graduate students in research activities. You will have opportunities to contribute to faculty research projects, thus expanding your professional knowledge and credentials. Over the past four years, students have been recognized more than 30 times as authors or co-authors of presentations and publications involving a faculty member’s research. 
  • As an exercise science student, you will have the opportunity to earn essential hands-on experience through an internship in a health and fitness facility or clinic. These opportunities are available locally or at sites across the nation to offer you flexibility and a wide variety of settings from which to choose.
  • Southeast’s exercise science program also offers you additional first-hand learning opportunities through a practicum class and other experiential learning opportunities that are incorporated into our curriculum, which will help you refine your skills and better prepare you for a career in exercise science.
  • As a student in Southeast’s exercise science program, you will benefit from working with the latest equipment used in exercise science, therapy, and physical rehabilitation
  • Our student organizations give you the chance to further enhance your professional skills and provide you with the opportunity to network with professionals in the health management field
