Southeast Missouri State University

Real World Experience

Your study of the German language will be greatly enhanced by the opportunities you will have for first-hand and real-world experience with the language. The department has implemented a semester-long exchange program at Friedrich-Schiller-Universitat Jena in Jena, Germany, and two-week programs in Germany are available. Internships also are available in a variety of fields and countries to help you prepare for an international career. Southeast students have been placed as interns in the German Bundestag and in German corporations and department stores. In addition, if you are studying to be a teacher of German at the middle- or high school level, you will have the opportunity to student teach in area schools for one full semester.
