Student Organizations

As a history student, you can take advantage of many student and professional organizations offering priceless hands-on experience and career information as well as professional contact and networking. The student organizations hold monthly meetings and sponsor a variety of events on and off campus. These include guest speakers, panel discussions and field trips to historic sites. 
 
History Club and Historic Preservation Club
The History Club and the Historic Preservation Club are open to students with interests in those fields. Both organizations work in cooperation with respective departments and the history department.

Phi Alpha Theta
The Alpha Epsilon chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, an international honor society in history, is one of the oldest in the nation. Membership in Phi Alpha Theta is limited to those who have achieved academic excellence in the field of history.

Sigma Pi Kappa
The Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Pi Kappa, honor society in historic preservation, is the first undergraduate chapter in the nation. Membership in Sigma Pi Kappa is open to all Southeast Missouri State University Historic Preservation students, graduate and undergraduate.
