Certification Opportunities Industrial and Engineering Technology students are eligible to take several examinations to obtain certifications in addition to their degrees. Certifications are highly regarded by industry and can be helpful to students in securing employment and obtaining higher salaries. Graduates of the B.S. in Industrial Technology are eligible for the Certified Industrial Technologist (CIT) certification through the National Association of Industrial Technology (NAIT). The Certified Senior Industrial Technologist (CSIT) is available for graduates of NAIT- accredited bachelor degree programs with five years of professional experience and 75 hours of professional development units. Additionally, Industrial Management and Manufacturing Engineering Technology students are eligible to take the following Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) certifications:
* Required for MET students Certification through SME's Manufacturing Engineering Certification Institute (MECI/SME) is a program of professional documentation and recognition of an individual's manufacturing-related knowledge, skills, and capabilities.
