Technology – (21 hours)
Program requirements and suggested course sequencing
The technology option is specifically designed for students who have earned accredited Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees in technically-oriented programs and desire to complete a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Industrial Technology. In addition to credit for the transferable general education courses completed at the community college, students will also be awarded up to 34 hours credit for the approved technical transfer courses from their A.A.S. degrees.

In addition, this option is available to students who have three years of related work experience and a recognized national certification or exam score.  These students submit a portfolio to the Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology to be reviewed/approved by the faculty.

To complete the B.S. degree, students will meet their remaining University Studies requirements and the Industrial Technology required core courses.  In addition, they will work with their faculty advisors to select 21 credit hours of technical electives (must be at the 300-500 level), including some technical management coursework, to build upon the skills gained through the AAS degree.

This option is available in a variety of formats to meet students needs:

  • on campus with a flexible schedule
  • on campus through Southeast PM (as a combination of courses offered evenings, weekends, and online)
  • in St. Louis area (as a combination of courses offered evenings, weekends, and online) - with an industrial management focus
  • available completely online - with an industrial management focus
