Industrial Technology (B.S.)
(No minor required)

Students must elect to concentrate in one of the following options:

  • Construction Management and Design option – This option incorporates a combination of technical and management components designed to prepare you for technically oriented mid-management positions in the construction industry.  The program incorporates hands-on experiences and management-related theory to prepare you to communicate and function within the management, engineering, and production environments of the construction industry.

  • Industrial Management option – This option incorporates a combination of industrial technology and business management components designed to prepare you for mid-management positions in the manufacturing/production sectors of industry.

  • Technical Graphics option – This option is designed to provide you with a background in the technical communications industry.  This program prepares you for technical and managerial positions using skills such as computer aided drafting (CAD), desktop publishing, multimedia, photography, digital imaging and animation, graphic arts, video editing and production, and rapid prototyping.  

  • Technology option – This option is for students who have completed accredited Associate of Applied Science degrees in technically oriented programs and desire to continue study toward Bachelor of Science degrees in Industrial Technology to prepare them for technical management positions.  In addition, a student with three years of related work experience and a recognized national certification or exam score may complete a portfolio to validate that his/her background and experiences equate to the technical competencies that would be obtained from an Associate of Applied Science degree.  The portfolio is reviewed by the department faculty to determine the number of credit hours (up to 34) that the student can obtain toward the Technology option.
  • Telecommunications & Computer Networking option
    The telecommunications and computer networking option prepares students to design, implement and support networked systems. Sourses build a solid foundation in the hardware and architecture of telecommunication networks and systems; operating systems and applications; systems design and analysis; networking theory and solutions; types of networks, including fiber optics and wireless; network management and control; network and flow optimization; network security; configuring and troubleshooting.
