RN to BSN Program

In addition to our traditional four-year nursing program that prepares students to take the national license exam, Southeast also offers a baccalaureate completion (RN to BSN) program in nursing.

This program enables a registered nurse, who has either an associate’s degree or diploma in nursing, to gain advanced placement in the BSN major. Registered nurses are required to take only 24 hours of nursing course work to complete their BSN. Credits for previous general educational work are determined on an individual basis and/or through articulation agreements with the 12 junior colleges that serve Southeast Missouri State University.

Course work for the RN to BSN program can be pursued through a one-day-a-week option on campus or through an evening weekend option at the RN-BSN outreach site in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Some non-nursing courses are also offered at other off-campus sites.
