Student Organizations The Geoscience Society is a professional organization for students majoring or interested in geosciences. You do not have to be a geoscience major to join. The society presents a variety of programs at monthly meetings and organizes activities such as field trips, backpacking trips, a department picnic and other activities. The informal learning and leadership opportunities, career education and social relationships to be gained through the society are considered to be an integral part of the department’s educational mission. The Soil Science Society of America is a national professional organization for people interested in soil sciences. The Web site for the Soil Science Society of America is http://www.agronomy.org. |
