- Classes in the Department of Physics and Engineering Physics at Southeast are taught by dedicated faculty with research backgrounds and expertise in such areas as electron atom and magnetic neutron scattering, mathematical physics, nuclear physics, solar radiation and laser spectroscopy.
- You will find that Southeast is very economical and has an excellent general studies curriculum. Southeast also has great rapport with engineering programs such as those at the University of Missouri at Rolla and the University of Missouri at Columbia.

The department boasts a computer lab with 18 networked computers, an electronics laboratory, an advanced physics laboratory containing a large optical table and modern electronic instrumentation for data acquisition and analysis, an observatory located north of Cape Girardeau and extensive research space for undergraduate research.
