  • The Department of Political Science is very involved in student affairs. The faculty actively advise a variety of diverse clubs and organizations, and all participate in sponsored forums, campus-community events and outreach service.

  • Students can gain practical experience through internships with local, state and federal government and with political campaigns.

  • The department sponsors many guest speakers, giving students the opportunity to interact with influential political figures.

  • The department is located in A. S. J. Carnahan Hall, an historic academic structure with a newly renovated interior and state-of-the-art classrooms.

  • Students may continue course work at the graduate level by pursuing the masters degree in public administration.

  • Southeast students benefit from small classes and a low student-faculty ratio of 17 to 1.
