Additional requirements: To be eligible for the Outdoor Adventure Leadership certificate, students are also required to: • Complete two additional leadership experiences within the recreation program • Complete 36 hours of pre-approved experiences in outdoor leadership activities external to the program. • Be certified in CPR/first aid • Wilderness first-aid certification is strongly encouraged.
NOTE: Adequate physical conditioning and stamina are key components to successful and safe trip leadership.
Courses required for professional certification in Therapeutic Recreation Students planning to work toward Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Certification must fulfill the following requirements in order to be eligible for the certification exam administered by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification:

Additional requirements: Completion of RC 497 (Recreation internship - 12 credit hours) under the supervision of an on-site field supervisor who is NCTRC-certified at the Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Professional Level.
