Real World Experience

Your study of the Spanish language will be greatly enhanced by the opportunities you will have for first-hand and real-world experience with the language. The department has implemented an exchange program with an academic institutios in Mexico--the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey at the Queretaro Campus in Queretaro, and two in Spain--at the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija in Madrid, at the Universidad de Salamanca in Salamanca and in Costa Rica at the Universidad de Costa Rica in San Jose. Two-week programs in Mexico are also available. Internships also are available in a variety of fields and countries to help prepare you for an international career. In addition, if you are studying to be a teacher of Spanish at the middle- or high school level, you will have the opportunity, to student teach in area schools for one full semester.
