Areas of Study

Health Management - Exercise Science

Overview:

Exercise science majors study the science of the human movement. They also learn how to help people live healthier lives through exercise, rehabilitation, and nutrition.

As an exercise science student, you will have the opportunity to earn essential hands-on experience through an internship in a health and fitness facility or clinic. These opportunities are available locally or at sites across the nation to offer you flexibility and a wide variety of settings from which to choose.

Southeast’s exercise science program also offers you additional first-hand learning opportunities through a practicum class and other experiential learning opportunities that are incorporated into our curriculum, which will help you refine your skills and better prepare you for a career in exercise science.

Southeast's exercise science curriculum is designed to prepare students for the highly respected American College of Sports Medicine's, Health Fitness Instructor (HFI) certification.
