Southeast Missouri State University

Accreditation:

Southeast's technology management program is accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). ATMAE sets standards for academic program accreditation, personal certification, and professional development for educators and industry professionals involved in integrating technology, leadership and design. Accreditation requires that the program curriculum be current and have high standards, include all of the essential elements, and maintain a competitive edge, so graduates can find employment compatible with their abilities and the demands of industry.

Overview:

The technology management option in Southeast's technology mangement program is for students who have completed accredited Associate of Applied Science degrees in technically oriented programs and desire to continue study toward Bachelor of Science degrees in technology management to prepare them for technical management positions. In addition, a student with three years of related work experience and a recognized national certification or exam score may complete a portfolio to validate that his/her background and experiences equate to the technical competencies that would be obtained from an Associate of Applied Science degree. The portfolio is reviewed by the department faculty to determine the number of credit hours (up to 34) that the student can obtain toward the technology anagement option. This option is available in a variety of formats to meet students needs:

  • on campus with a flexible schedule
  • in the St. Louis area (as a combination of courses offered evenings, weekends, and online) - with an industrial management focus
  • available completely online - with an industrial management focus
