The Earl and Margie Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts at Southeast is comprised of the departments of Art, Music and Theatre & Dance. Beginning in fall 2007, students in these disciplines receive their training at River Campus.
Students desiring admission to these departments may elect programs of study that lead to either a professional degree or a liberal arts degree with a major in one of the arts disciplines. For example, students in Art may follow a course of study leading to the Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) or the Bachelor of Science in Art Education (B.S.) with state certification to teach. Also available is the Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Art. Similarly, the Department of Theatre and Dance offers the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with majors in Acting, Dance, Design/Technology, and Music Theatre, and the Bachelor of Arts degree is offered with options in Dance or Theatre. Students wishing to obtain certification pursue the Bachelor of Science in Education Degree with a major in Speech/Theatre Education.
Music majors may elect the Bachelor of Music in Performance degree (B.M.) with options in voice, winds, strings, keyboard or composition. Students wishing to obtain certification follow the Bachelor of Music Education degree in either the vocal or instrumental track. Also available is the Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in music.
Students seeking admission as majors to any of the above programs should contact the Department of Art, Department of Music or the Department of Theatre & Dance to receive further information or to arrange a campus visit. Likewise, students wishing to minor in any of these disciplines are urged to contact the department directly.
