The Earl and Margie Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts at Southeast is comprised of the Department of Art, Department of Music and the Department of Theatre & Dance and students in these disciplines receive their training at River Campus. Students may elect programs of study that lead to either a professional degree or a liberal arts degree. And to keep up with growing demand, River Campus is undergoing new construction of instructional spaces that include an on-site Residence Hall opening Fall 2014. Bringing all the visual and performing arts together in one location offers unique opportunities for students to experience innovative degree programs and to work with other artists and performers on a daily basis.
And NEW this spring, elementary and middle school students get to experience artistic learning opportunities too! The first class session offered students the chance to learn new performance skills in conjunction with Southeast’s production of Peter Pan. And thanks to such a large response, we are excited to offer two more chances for students to learn theatre performance skills along with storytelling, self-expression and teamwork. All classes take place at Southeast Missouri State River Campus and culminate in a final performance for family and friends.
Summer at Southeast offers a wide variety of academic and special interest opportunities to area youth ranging in age from pre-school to college through one day, multi-day and overnight summer programs and camps. Each program or camp is designed to highlight a particular field of study or skill and to encourage everyone to explore their potential. See what excitement awaits your theatrical, musical or artsy student!
