Half the symphony is here in Beijing! The other half of us was delayed a full day in St. Louis because their commuter flight couldn't leave for Chicago and missed their flight to Beijing; they will arrive this afternoon just in time for a concert at the Beijing Conservatory. Due to the delay, we are not visiting Tian'anmen Square or the Forbidden City until the rest of us arrive.
Chinese health officials checked our forehead temperature via infrared sensor before we departed the plane in Beijing. All passengers had their temperatures checked in an effort to catch those who may be carrying swine flu.
More as it happens!
