Southeast Dance Ensemble Lees Hummel and Hilary Peterson, Co-Artistic Directors The Southeast Missouri State Dance Ensemble is an undergraduate dance company that performs various forms / styles / eras of Dance Repertoire encompassing both traditional and contemporary movement. The Southeast Dance Ensemble tours and performs throughout Southeastern Missouri at area and collegiate festivals, schools, community centers and special events. The Southeast Dance Ensemble requires the creative and physical commitment to the same degree as a professional level dance company and serves as the training ground for a marketable future in professional performance for students interested in developing skills that will allow them to excel in the dance field or any other chosen profession. The creative process and the work produced are of equal importance, refining the student’s professionalism while creating material suitable for performance. The Ensemble strives to enrich and enhance the dance experience of the surrounding University and Cape Girardeau community as well as enhancing the educational curriculum of the company dancers.
