History: Cheney Hall is Southeast’s smallest and oldest residence hall. Cheney, named after the University’s first president, Lucius Cheney who was accidentally killed in a Harvard Archeological dig in 1876, is conveniently located in the middle of campus and houses 121 students.
Building Use: Rooms in Cheney Hall are community style with community showers and bathrooms on each of the halls three floors. The hall is air-conditioned and houses two large lounges with televisions and microwaves for student use. Cheney Hall houses students from all class years and is co-ed by floor.
Fun Fact: Cheney Hall offers an “antique” living experience with original oak trim and appointments such as a fireplace and large open lounges. In Cheney Hall, each room has unique dimensions and layouts.
