Dearmont Hall

Dearmont Hall

History: Built in 1958 to replace Albert Hall, Dearmont was originally an all female residence hall.  Dearmont is the only residence hall on campus to offer its own private courtyards and has one of the most conducive community building floor plans.

Building Use: The residence hall rooms in Dearmont are designed in the community style layout with students’ sharing community restroom and shower facilities with floor mates. Living in Dearmont provides students with an intensive community experience with members of all class years.  Dearmont has a housing capacity for 328 students in its four-wing design.

Also located in Dearmont are offices for the Department of Public Safety, University Police and University Vending Services.

Fun Fact: At one time, Dearmont had its own dining facility.  This dining facility with full kitchen is now used by students in the Hospitality Management program as a training lab.  Students living in Dearmont now use the dining facility in the University Center or Towers Complex.
