Houck Stadium, home to Southeast football and soccer

Houck Stadium

History: The stadium, one of the oldest west of the Mississippi, originally opened in 1930 and has been expanded and improved many times over the years.  The limestone used in the construction of many of our facilities on campus was dug from where Houck Stadium stands today.

Building Use: With 10,000 seats and a new field turf synthetic playing surface, Houck stadium is an excellent home venue for Southeast’s football and women’s soccer teams. Cape Central High School’s football team plays here as well.

The playing surface of the football field was replaced in 2000 and is Seal Field Turf, just like Veteran’s Stadium in Philadelphia.

Fun Fact: The Attendance Record for Houck Stadium was broken on Oct. 2, 1999 at the football game during Family Weekend. The Beach Boys performed after the game.
