History: The Magill Hall of Science, part of the science courtyard, was completed in 1958 and named after Dr. Arthur Clay Magill, the University’s long-time professor of Chemistry and Chair of the Science Department.
Building Use: Magill houses classrooms for chemistry, physics and agriculture courses. There are several experimental laboratories available for students gain hands on experience. The courses taught in Magill Hall are part of Southeast’s College of Science and Mathematics.
Fun Fact: Magill Hall contains a seismograph, which tracks the presence and severity of earthquakes across the Southeast Missouri Region.
