History: Built in the mid-to-late-1960s, Towers Residence Halls include Towers North, Towers South, Towers East and Towers West.
Building Use: Remodeled during 1994 and 1995, Towers North and West offer suite-style residence hall rooms. Each room contains walk-in-closets, room temperature controls, cable television access, personal telephone lines, high-speed internet and bathrooms shared by suite mates. Segregation of men and women is by suite, thus men and women will never share the same room, suite or bathroom. Students on each floor have access to a television, study lounge, laundry room and kitchenette with a microwave and ice machine.
Towers South and East are traditional community style residence hall rooms with single gender floors. Each floor shares private restroom and shower facilities with their floor mates. Each room is furnished and equipped with a sink, personal telephone lines, high-speed internet and cable television access. Each floor has a lounge with a television, microwave and ice machine. Laundry facilities are located on each halls first floor. Students who live in these “traditional residence halls” benefit from increased interaction with their floor mates and lower housing costs.
Fun Fact: Towers East is home to Southeast’s first-year student residence hall, an outstanding program that provides social events, academic programming, faculty access and other activities designed to help make first-year students feel at home.
